i have a 350 engine that's leaking oil from the head. When I want to a local kragen's, they told me that there are more than one size (thickness) and material that's available. My question is, if I'm willing to replace both sides, does the thickness and material (rubber or cork) matters? Will I encounter any major issues? What difference would it make when I change the thickness oof the gasket or if i switch from cork to rubber? Please help. Thanks to any replies. Peace and Respect!

i dont see what the thickness will matter, but remember if you change the thickness of the gaskets, you may have to change the bolts.i've always preffered cork,i guess its personal preference.

I like the rubber also. your studs should be long enough to do any gasket you want to. 12 pounds should be enough to tighten the covers once you run the car do over at about 15 pounds wont leake after that unless your heads are worped or covers are real bad. Good luck..
