thanks to everybody and i believe it still have the stock gears because the only thing that wasnt stock on the original motor when i got it was the carb and timing chain so i believe it is stock but i guess when i get it back ill bust it open and see its about time to change the gear oil anyway so i guess i will just count the teeth and find out but thank you all for your suggestions and merry christmas.
That's true, but the G92 option was for all other Camaro models, it wasn't available on the Z28. I believe, though I'm not certain, that the G92 may have been 2:73 or 3.08 depending on the model. The 3.42 or 3.73 ratios were not available on the G92 option.
If you want to know what you actually have for sure you'll have to pull the cover and count the number of teeth on the ring gear and the pinion gear.
The link above has a calculator but it's pretty simple division.
It also has a link to find what was available for your car.

I noticed another thing in the OP's post, he said it was an open diff.. Stock Z28 cars did not have an open diff.. Maybe something's broken in there?

Or maybe rear axle replaced at some point, cars this old can have a lot of non original parts especially cars like Z28's that tend to get run hard and often abused over their lifetime. Only way to know what he's got is pull the cover and look inside.
