Transferring gen 4 spindles/brakes to gen 2

I've seen where people talking about it being done before. Didn't see anything in the search that screamed "here it is". Does anyone know any information/links/kits/etc. that has pertinent information?

Do you have access to a metal lathe? How are your metal fab skills? If I was doing it I would just cut down the original rotors in the hubs that look like the 4th gen hub bearing and make some brackets to hold calipers. You can do the same thing with the drums. Might be a good idea to use some swap meet rotors/drums if yours are in good shape incase you want to switch back.

Did you find a better way?

Yeah, CCP makes a spindle that's bolt in and allows you to bolt up C5 style hubs. I think it's about 350 - 500 depending on what you get. The spindles themselves are 250ish and if you get the C5/C6 hubs they're around 60 to 130 apiece depending on what you get and where you get them from.

My way is like $50. :) Sure the Vett brakes are better but the later 4th gen brakes are a super upgrade to a 2nd or even 3rd gen. Course stock rims won't fly anymore. My way works better when your upgrading drum brakes.

i think u need s10 rear brakes - they have the e-brake attachments which the gen4s dont (read this online) as i was considering this 2 weeks ago

Your hyper link is not working. Converting any straight axle to disk brakes is pretty easy, especially since the 2nd gen came with disk brakes in the rear in later years,
