78 Z-28 is bottoming out over anything need help.

I just bought a '78 Camaro Z-28 and on the 45 minute ride home it just bottomed out over everything[:@] (little potholes, entrance to my driveway, you name it.)
I need to know what the problem is if i need to replace my shocks or if my springs are to old and are saggin or whatever.
Any and all ideas/suggestions are appreciated
(i also wanna keep it "cost effective" i want my Z to be nice but im a student with a small budget)

does it look low in the front, like someone has tampered with the springs.some people like to lower them ,so they breakout the torch and collapse a few of the coils, not a very good idea.look at them and if you see hotspots or coils that are too close together compared to the other coils i would change the springs,if oil is around the shock area then i would change the shocks.

it's 28 yrs.old the springs are worn out if not broke. I have two '79 camaro's and they both had broken rt front springs. the bottom coil sits in water most of the time and after awhile it rusts, weakens, and finally breaks. You can't see it till you take it out. Keep in mind that the rears are just as old. New springs affect suspension geometry, it must be alighned after the springs are changed. Also if you're doing springs do all 4 shocks to.
