Default My Camaro redlines at 55mph in 4th gear?

All right guys, I bought my Camaro in mid-January 2018 it's a 4-speed manual and it red lines at 55 mph. Can anyone help me figure out why my car does this? I would highly appreciate it if you could. Message me on Facebook

may be setup for 1/8 mile. still looking at 8-9k rpms at top end. wow. check and see what gears you got. jack up both back wheels, trans in neutral. assuming you have posi turn the rear wheels one full turn and count the number of times the drive shaft goes around. if it goes around a little over 5 times i would say you got 5.13 gears

Possibilities:
You have very low gears in the rear diff
Your tachometer is malfunctioning
Your tires are only +/- 18" tall
Your speedo gears in the trans aren't matched to your rear gears, which would mean that you only think you're going 55.
Have you had someone else pace you in their car to verify your speed?

Question

Well I met this youngster today, didn't take long to figure out the tach is whack, reads way higher than the engine is turning. Aside from an Edlebrock Streetmaster intake and carb it's no doubt a stock smallblock, doesn't even have headers and it's a stock 10 bolt rear end. I took it for a short drive and saw the tach rev past 7000 rpms which is as high as it goes. No way it was even near 5000 rpm, maybe 4000-4500 tops and I doubt that.
So what would make a tach go whack? Hate to see him buy a tach if that's not the problem. Stock GM in dash tach,no doubt not great to begin with but useless now.
Any ideas?

Remember the aftermarket bolt on tachs had a 4,6,and 8 setting adjustment. I think this factory tach has gone bad and the ohm resistance is out of whack. Cut the tach lead and put a bolt in tach in it or no tach. .
BTW, Y2K that was nice of you to help Ethan out. If he's a youngster, does that mean you're an old fart like me?
