Finally made some good progress today!

After the weather fluctuations keeping me out of the garage (cold air makes my legs hurt BAD) I finally made progress today on an energy burst. I got the shell suspended by itself on my frame. I also got the front rails off and, the rear axle with it's suspension components still attached to the axle. Although, the leafs and shocks are still on it. Here are some pics (none of the rear axle off yet.) The last one is a little fuzzy but, shows the way the rear of the shell sits on the frame system. There are spaces between to bridge the gap. Oh! Yes those rear tires were a pain in the *** to get off after the fact lol...

Nice work! I bet it was tough to break the lugnuts loose with an axle free from the car!

Yeah, that one I didn't think all the way through lol. Luckily, I have a big adjustable available. I put it in between the "spokes" on the wheel and the end rested on the frame to keep the wheel in place while I broke the lug nuts free.

I use my impact driver to break them loose. I bought an electric just so it would be handy and not have to string out the hose to different places I use it. Still use my IR air impact in the garage though.

That will probably be my next tool purchase. I have a large breaker bar and the large adjustable to keep the wheel from moving. I still need to get the fronts off but, with the whole assembly still on the front frame, they shouldn't move much.

The sub frame is finally all stripped of parts! Next will be cleaning and taking it down to the metal so I can paint and seal it.

It's been a while since I updated, but I have been making progress! My goal this summer was to have pretty well a rolling chassis. Well, I have that now!

Looks great! Glad the weather is finally better, and you don't have to deal with the cold and associated pain!
