Berlinetta?

Berlinetta?
All,
I recently bought my first ‘79 Camaro Z28. I am very new to the car rebuild world and have a dumb question, how do you tell if your Camaro is a Berlinetta? What is the distinguishing factor that makes a Berlinetta? Any help would really help this newbie out.
Thanks,
Brett

Typically it would have Berlinetta badging on it, I don't think there was a such thing as a Z28/Berlinetta. It's either or not both to my knowledge, never have I seen one that was both. Berlinetta was a trim package ,Z28 was a performance package although by '79 not much performance anymore compared to earlier versions thanks to the EPA. Of course that can be remedied easy enough.

Good to know. Mine has all Z28 badges. Thanks for the clarification.

Again Berlinetta is a trim option. I have never heard of Z-28 with a Berlinetta option .And I am a long time member of a local Camaro Club. But there is a Z-28 RS Camaro .And I have one .And I have all the paper work. But you could build your own Camaro the way you want to I have added Berlinetta tail lights and 1970-3 Z-28 emblems. Remember its you car .Build it the way you want.
