Just got my new-to-me steering wheel today. Grant 3 spoke w/horn button and adaptor mount, bought it from a member on NastyZ28, thanks again. Im hoping to have some decent time to work on it all but thankfully Ive been very busy with work lately. Money going on for the car can wait while money is coming in !

And . . . . im back Ya bit of a delay there due to work and life in general. But today was a beautiful day and I got to work on it a bit. Few little things done. Changed out the HVAC door that controls air coming in from outside (small job but satisfying) Next was the gas tank . . . which proved to be tricky alone with no lift and with about 8 gallons of gas in the tank (the tank was "new-to-me") But I got it in and bolted down with a new ground wire, new sender wire, and new hoses. I then thought Id take it for a drive . . . which worked fine . . . for the first 3 blocks. I then realized my rear window was about to fall out. So i stopped and took it out and put it in the car. Got back in the car and went to start it *click* . . . no go. Took me awhile to figure out it was bad cable ends. I was not getting a good connection to the battery. Got them cranked down enough after awhile and got the car the last 2 blocks home . . . and then replaced the battery cable ends.
Found out that this transmission is either very out of adjustment, something is bent, or im just REALLY not used to a 4 speed I think it may be all of the above. My wife too a rather embarassing video of me attempting to find a gear Anyway onto the pictures !
old HVAC door
New door
New fuel line in the engine bay
New-to-me gas tank
Tank in
Time to drive !!!
Although I gotta say, it was a 5 block ride, in which i broke down, had a hell of a time finding gears, almost lost the rear window . . . and i frikin loved it
Next up, tackling the dashboard and fixing the floor holes.

oh i did find out while putting the gas tank in that my rear sway bar doesnt seem to be hooked to anything . . . The bushings on the mounts are def shot but at some point ladder bars were installed and the sway bar doesnt seem to be attached to them. Ill post photos of it later. Just one more issue to sort out

That's a major step forward! I see the ladder bar brackets attached to the plate for the traction bars. Do you mean it doesn't have the rubber bushings in the brackets? If so, they're cheap at either NAPA or O'Reillys. Either plce can bring them in from their warehouse, but usually not in the store stock.

Ok todays update (it really is work while the sun shines Things done, floor holes fiber glassed, seams sealed, seats cleaned, conditioned, restored. And I finally got that damn bolt out of the floor !!! (this was the drivers seat, left rear bolt which would NOT come out, i ended up cutting the leg off the seat!) So part of my fixing the seat was replacing that slider. So on with the pics !
Seats before/after
Rears cleaned and restored
Replacement slider
Frikin dumb bolt gone ! (ended up hammering a 12mm socket onto the 1/2" bolt. It held hard enough to turn the bolt out)
Fiberglass done
Seams sealed.
Thats all for now. Looking to pull the dash next.

Tell them you want swaybar bushings. Better check the uppers too, and get them all if they're worn out too. You'll need to measure the diameter of the swaybar to insure you get the correct size bushings.
