''1988 camaro 9 bolt disk brake rear end 373 limited slip gears works great no noise $250''.

Think this would fit under my camaro? It needs new rotors and lines, but looks good.

Not a chance. They are coil spring torque arm set ups. Kind of rare though. They were made in Australia.

70-81 thats it. The 67-69 wouldn't fit without mods.

Oh yeah, the 3rd gens aren't exactly strong. I'm sure I'll get crap from the 3rd gen guys but I've bent one. The mechanic I took it to said I won't find a straight one that was rodded on.

Say I was talking to a buddy at a junkyard and wanted to swipe a good set of heads to clean up and use. what should I tell him I currently have and what would give a noticeable gain? thanks for putting up with my nuwbbish questions....

So I pulled the valve covers and found a mess of some kind of sealant. It was stuck all over.
Anyway... I found the casting numbers...

Casting number
14102193

....CID.........Years.........Valves
...305/350...87-95 ......1.84/1.50

YUP TBI heads all day. They had a stupid like bump in the intake port that was supposed to induce tumble, which helps the fuel and air atomize better. All it did was choke them down to pathetic flow numbers. The 1.84 I thought was a 305 thing. My Vortecs are for a 305 and they have that valve. BTW Vortecs didn't hit until around 93'.

The sealant is another sign of a RATARD. center bolt valve covers are some of the best sealing, they come with a silicone gasket that can be reused. I don't just sealant even on my old school heads, I never have leaks.

Ok, thanks for the info. Is there any hope for these heads as far as porting or should I just look for a different set?

I would move on unless the budget just won't allow it.
