A few quick questions where did you buy your battery tray, how did you sand your headers, and by any miracle do you know where i could find a decent dash that wont cost me an arm and both of my legs? thanks in advance!
Thanks man, no prob. I got the tray from ebay, i ordered one and got two in the mail my headers were sanded by hand with a rough grit (80) first then a light grit (400) but i didnt sand too much because my headers were ceramic coated. then i used Trem clad high heat paint (for stoves etc.). and for the dash, yeah they get pricey but if your anywhere near me i could sell you one, i have a tan and a grey one but both have a couple small cracks, asking $50 ea. and $30 for the lower dash with glove box (lower dashes are in great shape, i have a tan and black lower dash f/s. glad i inspired you, gool luck with the build

Joe

^^ NP, could always do what i did. Keep your options open, your car isnt finished so just wait it out for a dash till you can find or afford a decent one. i bought a 80 z28 for $600 and ripped a whack of parts off of it (including mint dash) then sold the rest of the shell for $500 but if you do find yourself near me ever, swing by and i'll throw you a decent dash with hardly and cracks (small, not really noticeable cracks) for free. just have to dye it, there is some good dyes in a spray can for cheap ($10).

i went to say hi to her yesterday and noticed a big puddle under it oil all leaked out. i was furious and thought the block was cracked cause the rad wasnt flushed after i got it back from paint (put a bit of water to top it off). i jacked it up right away and the oil drain screw was where it was leaking from, it was only on finger tight lol. i put some more oil and antifreeze and fired her up. man i love the nice weather, it's almost time.

I found a freeze plug popped out when I stuck the motor in last week. I swore I blew the water out. Now I just have my fingers crossed.

Well i took her out for some sun today (which i might ad it was beautiful here) lol. got some better recent pics of her, i stupidly wiped some dust off of it and put tiny scratches but not that bad it can buff out easy. I put some Edelbrock valve covers on to match the other stuff. almost ready for the road, small pieces to be assembled and painted in the interior, waiting on window sweeps from FBwarehouse, need to get some weather stripping, fan shroud and shes good to go.
well heres some pics anywho

BTW the after market chrome rad shroud panel's middle bolt would not line up, it was not even centered.
