Default How to change 76 Camaro power window motors

1976 Camaro LT

I have some new motors, but with the door panels removed it looks like the motors are rivited and inside the door bewteen the outer shell and the inner shell - way to much metal in the way to remove and install a new one. What am I missing - surely you don't have to cut some of the interior metal out?

Is there any spring tension on the regulator? Ive heard stories of the regulaor being unde spring tension and it could take a finger off. I need to do the same on my 79. So is it as simple as drilling the rivits out and replacing or is the any cautions to be aware of?

no there is no springs, or tension on the motor, its pretty simple to change, when u take the rivets out the window tracks want to move out of plave a lil but when ur ready to put it all back together just take a screwdriver and stick back through the rivet holes and line it all back up and put ya bolts in
