just to tell you right now if you want gas milage dont get a carb 77 chevy camaro the two just dont go together.
i have a 73 camaro with a worn out 350 and on the highway i get 17-18mpg and in town well i would rather not know if you know what i mean.
but to get the most out of you car is to make sure it is running good, and do the normal things like plugs, plug wires, new cap androtor, clean air cleaner, new oil, a free flowing exhuast, and try not to use your lead foot a lot.
good luck with the car man.

well if u wanted optimal mpg. put a efi system from edelbrock or holley that will make a world of difference. and if u really wanted to make a big impact put in an od tranny. those two would probably give u optimal gas milage performance. but if your like the rest of us and dont feel like maping out a fuel injection curve and all that tuning. get a carb and go easy on it and tune it and do what 73camaross said and change plugs wires etc. and GO EASY...hahah sorry tahts the best advice for the gas. ( im missing the 1.89 days big time)
