Yay for repair bills....
Well I took my car to the shop today thinking it would be an easy fix and not cost me a lot, i was just getting a tune-up and resmog... Apparently I need a new alignment but to do that I need to spend 600 dollars to just get it able to be aligned also the tune-up and smog will cost me 700... Do you think thats a little steep?

Judging from your screen name I would assume we;re talking about an 80 Camaro? What all did they say you needed? and what are the current settings of your alighnment now? If they are going off factory specs. then they are wrong. The factory specs don't work, They drive like crap. As long as you can get 0.2 neg. camber, and 1.9-2.2 caster, you're good. I have set alot of 1 st and 2nd gens this way and they drive perfect.

Its my friends shop, but its a new worker that is working there that ive never met b4 and its 700 before they can do the alignment they said the front suspension was too "loose" I dunno. For now I was thinking of shopping for tubular arms and such, what do you think?

I havent even been under the car yet. I had it for a day then it went to the shop. It is still there so I hope all its going well. I still dont understand if its loose, can't you tighten it?

It may just need some control arm bushings, tie rod ends, or a drag link. You can tighten things up till sunday, but if the bushings are bad itll do you no good. A very good resource is
www.p-s-t.com they have many levels of upgrades. Ive replaced the suspension in 2 cars (camaro & GTO) with their parts. Great prices and fast shipping.I paid only 60 bucks for alignment after replacing my suspension (by myself, I might add) and they drive better than new.
