I have the rubber sealent/glue i got it from autozone and the guy just told me to lay clean the surface and lay it on and then just put the windshield on top of it and thats it. Is that all thats needed or is their ohter steps i should take? thanks

what i did was, use the same rubber ribbon you have. laid it out around the opening on the car. put the windshield down then used the caulk gun sealant and go around the windshield from the outside of the car to make sure you have a good seal.

Did the kit you got come with the little setting blocks? You use those to keep the window centered in the opening so it doesnt slide down and leave a gap at the top.If you dont have them you can make them from plastic I think they are like 1/4”.

You need the primer to "paint" the channel too, or your sealant wont adhere good. 3M single step windshield primer with applicator.
