I posted in another thread I just picked up a project 77 camaro has a new nice radiator bt its missing the shroud. Is it just so your hand dosent get in there or is it for it to not over heat? Where can i find one I called every junk in the Chicagoland area nothing?? one part I cant find. I was thinking of going with 2 fans attaching it the raditator and taking off the originl fan what you think?

Number one it's for cooling, as it directs the air flow around the fan blades to maximize the efficiency. Secondary is protection. You could fab something from shet aluminum that would do the same thing, and with pop rivets and about 4 pieces it can easily be built and shaped to do the job.
Just make up a pattern out of cardboard, then cut it apart and lay that down on some thin aluminum sheet and trace around. Then add enough for overlapping to rivet, and you've got it.
