Default Warning buzzer/Fasten Seat Belts Light

I have a non-operational fasten belts light and no audible buzzer when I start the Camaro. I've checked and all the wiring is there and getting power to the buzzer unit and the seat belt connector is there and grounded still. I put a new bulb in the dash light and still get nothing. I'm wondering if the actual buzzer/heater unit could be the culprit?

What got me thinking about this is none of this has ever worked since I bought the car last year. However, today as I was making a turn (with seatbelt on) the fasten belt light decided to illuminate? I dont really care if the buzzer ever works but I would like the fasten belt light to work if only for the novelty of it. I was thinking about using the open stud on the starter as it's only hot when cranking and I could re-route the wire from the light to the empty terminal on the starter to bypass but would rather take a shot at getting the buzzer/minder working properly. Guess I'm just wondering if anyone else has replaced the buzzer before or what was done to get theirs working? Appreciate any insight, thanks.

I believe you may be the first person ever to try and "reactivate" a seatbelt warning buzzer

I second that, in my Avalanche the fasten belt alarm with go off if you have something heavy enough on the passenger seat. Now thats annoying when your are moving and the drive one way is 45 minutes haha. Never actually wanted it to work

LOL! Like I mentioned in my first post, "it's not really the buzzer that I'm worried about, it's more the light." Guess I should've been more specific but I thought they were operated off of the same device - which is called a "buzzer/minder?" The buzzer has never made a sound and that's fine with me. I'm basically trying to figure out how to get the light to work. The sound of the key-in buzzer is enough for me. Ironically, I'm dealing with the opposite issue in my Cadillac. The sensor in the seatbelt must be going out as the dash light constantly flickers when I drive down the road and move in my seat the slightest bit.

Sounds like you might be getting more wiring gremlins! The source of power for the seatbelt warning light is a keyed source, and might have an issue in the column if you're turning the wheel and it flickers. It's probably a combination of that, and a sensor/switch in the seatbelt going bad.
