what tranny would you reccommend, or would the th350 i have do it?

 

up grade to the turbo 400. and put a high performance converter. and valve body in it. shift kit and what not. or you could do the same for the turbo 350. but i like the 400.

 

with those high of numbers, you would be better off putting money into a th-400, like bandit said. 350's are good, but the 400's are a little heavier duty.

 

just saw today that i indeed do have the 400...

 

the 400 is great, but you could also look into a late-model or manual swap as well. I just did a bunch of motor work, an I am puttin in a stick cause they just seem to hold up better

you would need a built up 400...I would stick with an auto if you planed on an auto in the first place...go to www.jegs.com ... and www.summitracing.com, order the free catalogs and check out the TCI auto transmissions.

 

hav ethe free mags already...i didnt plan on just an automatic, but how all around driveable can i make the 400 trans, i want it to hold the power but still be able to cruise

 

Its ok, 1:1 final drive, so itll suck gas. with the late model swap youd have to beat on the tunnel some, an have the driveshaft shortened along with putting in pedals, so a couple weeks worth of work, but instructions are on the nastyz28 forum too.

 

yea i figured that much, ill have to research a little more just to see what is best for my entire set up, thanx for the info tho
