Probably wont hold long, and it will warp the flange so later it might not seal with two bolts when you get it fixed. But if you need to drive it I guess it's a temp fix.

Flange might already be warped, could be why it was leaking in the first place. Might have to wait and invest in headers and maybe heads if I can't drill out the bolt

Mike, relax you won't need to replace the head! You may have to pull it though. The bolt is a 3/8-16.that will require a 5/16" hole( or "F")Try to run the motor till hot and then work on the bolt. Wear gloves as you will burn yourself. AS a last resort go to an automotive machine shop, they will probably be able to remove it for you!!

Worse case scenario is it might need to be drilled out and a heli coil installed, but I don't think the head needs replacing.

PM me. Send me a self addressed, stamped envelope. I'll send you a couple 3mm carbide bits. I have tons of them. They will eat that easy out for lunch. They break VERY easy. Like if you drop just the bit on the floor it will shatter.

You really don't need new heads, when all else fails you can take the head to a good machine shop, they will have the tools to get the stud out without costing a fortune Or if you feel ambitious, you could probably do it yourself with the head off. Get a full carbide drill, not a masonry drill, and drill the the stud out and tap the hole for a helicoil. The carbide drill gets very hot and will have to be kept cool by flowing water on it while drilling.

after hours of drilling and help from all you great guys, i got the a helicoil in the hole. header is on but still leaks from the top of the middle manifold, cut the header braces to give me a better fit, picked this up from a guy to works on race cars.

video here also now that my bolts are on, how do i go about fixing the leak? thicker gasket? i dont think i can go any tighter on the bolts without breaking one again

or i can file down the header ports to make sure they are flat and run no gaskets and use a high temp sealer? seen around google guys using this approach.

I have cut them before. I see no reason not to really.
