stuck rear seat 77

Hi,

I'm wanting to fold down my rear seat, so i can work on the package shelf. But the rear seat is stuck. The passenger side moves up and down and the drivers side seem quite solid. Would re-moving the plastic side molding help?. Any tips or hints would be appreciated.

Thanks from Luke

Start by removing the bottom cushions first. The bottom of the back cushion has 2 small bolts holding it in place. Remove them and then lift up as the top half has hooks facing upwards. Good luck as mine had a fair amount of rust on the bolts.

I didn't even know the '77 Camaro had a fold down rear seat?

If it doesn't, then why are we talking about how to get it to fold down? My rear seat bottoms clip in, and come out by simply pushing them back and lifting. Then there are just two bolts and hooks to hold the seat back.
He mentioned folding one side down, but driver's side is stuck. Is it possible some that went overseas were folding?

Hi,

I did mean either fold down or remove the rear seat.

I will try to remove the bottom seats first then thanks

My 77 rear seats sure don't fold down. I removed them exactly as stated above.

Removed the rear seats last night, was quite a struggle with the bottom seats and the back part came out quite easy. Many thanks to oldman9 and exlimey for the helpfull tips.

cheers from Luke
