Steering Pump Belt Replacement?

Steering Pump Belt Replacement?
I just bought a 1979 with a stock 305 in it for my son. I am in the process of fixing it to make it street worthy. I have bought both belts, the alternator belt and the steering pump belt. I can see that the alternator swings down with a bolt but I don't see a way of moving the steering pump pulley. I'm sorry for the basic question but how do I replace this belt.

Loosen the pivot bolt, and then the bolt that's farthest from the engine in the slotted hole of the bracket. The pump will move up and down, not in and out like the alt. adj. does. These are sometimes a little tough to get good belt tension on once you've got the new belt on, so you may need to gently pry with a flat bar between the engine and the pump to hold it while tightening the adj. bolt. Be careful not to dent the housing doing this and cause a leak.
Recheck belts after a couple weeks, as they tend to do most of their stretching right off, then they're good for a long time.

Take a look at the brackets in this set. It will give you an idea of what they look like off the car so you can see where to look for the various bolts. The slot is the adjusting bolt that holds it once your tension is right. The two parallel holes at the channel shaped bracket (one has the welded nut) are the pivot point bolt. That one open "C" shaped hole and it's opposite are mounting bolts and should not be loosened.
