im almost embarrassed to say haha. it came from mattsclassicbowties.com.
79 - 81 Camaro

It came with everything including an electronic speedo sensor and the brand new dash bezel. I brought it to a shop and they charged me 250 for install. Freakin $85 an hour!! They said it was one of the easiest installs out of the box they have ever seen.

Yea I know what you mean those gauges can be pricey but well worth it they update the look of the car so much and seeing as my originals aren't hooked up im thinking about just getting a new set. I'll keep that website in mind thanks

I built one for a friend's car from aluminum sheet. Think it was 16ga. if I remember right. Bent it on my sheetmetal brake and just laid it on the original to check the shape to make sure it matched.
Then we cut out the holes for gauges, wiper, and headlight switch. Came out pretty nice, and I liked it brushed aluminum, but he covered it in fake carbon fiber, and that looked pretty nice also.

you know, i had a real hard time choosing between the brushed aluminum and the black look. I like both alot but i had to go with black. They gave me the option of the carbon fiber look but i thought it would make the car too "ricey". My interior is all black so i figured i would keep with that theme, if black is even considered a theme lol. The gauges look great at night and they match the pioneer cd player i have in there now too. i'll try to get some pictures up of the interior soon.

My '71 still has the stock myrtlewood dash panel. I've often thought of replacing it, but it's in nice shape, so I decided not to.

Yep! Myrtlewood dash was part of some interior package option, but I'd have to look at my build sheet to know what the option number is.

carbon fiber too ricey? I think it just depends on how you use it. Like if you put it on your dash, console, seats, shifter, lights, gauges, hood, trunk, body kit, 3 foot wing, 24" rims, roof scoop, side scoops, fog lights..it could possibly look ricey lol....

A little carbon fiber looks OK, especially if it's not in your face. I'm not a fan of it exposed on body panels, but a lot of folks are. I prefer little touches, and a dash panel is one that seems OK to me. Previous owner actually did carbon fiber dash panel and glovebox door on my '69 Suburban, and without knowing they were black or wood grain, I didn't know it right off. Should have figured they didn't ever do that stock in 1969.
