Replacing subframe for a BBC?

No like I said some guys are just ****-retentive, just make sure the car at least has the seats in it. The back seat is useless for anyone older than five. i would rethink the car full of buddies idea. Everyone here knows the sound of tire rub with people in the back seat.

Yeah i know all about that sound, my fender shows the damage from it as well. With my old rims and tires, if i didnt have the air shocks pumped all the way up, if i put even one person in the backseat i would bounce down on the fender lip. This was with brand new leafs too.

Time to revive this old thread again. At the beginning I was told I would need to do some "reinforcing." Aside from the Subframe connector, could someone give me a list of what that might be? You don't have to explain it all if you don't want to, but a list of things would be very useful to me. I have Google on my side if need be.

Yeah, not really any reinforcing needed,as mentioned the factory used the same subframe for small and big block cars, hell you can even use the small block motor mounts for the big block to help it sit a bit lower in the car to help with hood clearance. So subframe connectors and some solid body bushings and you will be all set.

I really can't see where you would brace the car anymore. I cage will stiffen it up. The more cage the stiffer it becomes until its a Pro Stock 25.X cage and its no longer a street car. Stick with what we have said. Don't over think it. Do this, look up Baldwin Motion 1970 Camaro. Check those cars out and come back and see us. Those were sold new that way
