Well, car is running really good, but I am extremely not happy. Guess I will have to build a 383 stroker.

320 HP at 4600 RPM's
360 TQ at 3800 RPM's

Really strong and steady TQ staid over 350 to 4600 RPM's

That is without the nitrous. 100 shot is 100 HP at the rear wheels. Remember I am in Colorado. No air.

That's pretty decent for RWH figures. I know you wanted more, but don't we all?

It really is good torque. The dyno guy was impressed for a stock block. Im just not happy. But when you figure that from chevy it was 185 hp. I just added heads, rockers, carb and intake. I still have the nitrous that will get me over 400hp and even more torque.
My fuel pump was to small to run the nitrous. The new fuel pump will be here tuesday.

I am hoping for a good solid big horsepower motor too. I hope I can pull it off. I keep going back and forth on things, I haven't really started messing with what I'm going to use yet. Thinking that a LS is probably going to be the ticket though.

I know LS motors make great HP, but they are just so homely looking outside. I see lots of guys running covers to hide them, but that looks even worse.

I will build a 383 for for the next motor. This one just runs so well and has so few miles that I don't really want to replace it yet.

This is a classic example the heartbreak I was talking about. Did the dyno guy give you any suggestions? Looking at the graph I would be worried why your not making power past 4600. It doesn't even stay flat it starts to reverse. Looks to me like something is holding you back.

It obviously stayed together up to what 5700. Your intake and carb aren't choking you. Its either the cam or the heads. Maybe valve float of lack of fuel at high RPM. Something isn't right. I think you can tune on it more. Did he make suggestions on timing? Or help for that matter?

That motor flat laid on its face after 4600.

I had a zz4 with my canfields on it, stock zz4 cam too. I was in the low 12s with that in the nova. I dropped a valve on spray and killed that one.

The thing is, I'm reading a book on them, and if I do go that route, I seriously think I'm going carb'ed. I don't want anything to do with the harness and all that stuff. Still a bit off though on making a solid decision, I do have a line on a good engine, but haven't gotten it yet. who knows, time will tell.

I hope that you get it figured out on your engine. sucks to be held back. I would expect a dyno place to help you along, never been to one though so maybe they just try and bang people through there and make money... I've got such a long ways to go on figuring the engine thing out, its doable though, just got to keep reading.

I think I got a sweet deal on my dyno time. $500 for the better part of the day. Guy started at 9 am got her set up and broke in the cam and then called me noonish to come in and he made a bunch of pulls making numerous jet and timing changes. Pump gas vs. Race gas. He even suggested making the last few pulls with my headers to see if it would lose or gain with them. I was surprised when it made a hair more with the smaller primaries. It was after 4 when we finished up.
