Non power disc brakes

Default Non power disc brakes

New to the forum buying 1972 Camaro and it has disc brakes but no power booster is that normal ?

Yes! My '71 came that way from the factory. But I swapped in a booster many years later, after getting tired of the extra foot power needed to operate the manual disc brakes. If you swap in a power booster, be sure to relocate the pivot point on the brake pedal arm! GM uses two holes on the pedal for power or manual brakes, and the hole closest to the pivot point is for manual, farthest away for power.

Did you have to change out the proportioning valve too ? Thanks for the info.

As a side note. While power and manual were options. Disc's were not. Every car left with disc brakes.
