Best to just get it and then after putting a few miles on, then make the decision. If it's a solid engine you don't need to replace it, just add some performance items to make it come to life. Wont take much to bring a late 2nd gen Camaro to the point where it will beat the imports, unless they're really built up imports. Main thing is to make it look, sound, and be wicked enough to either beat them, or scare the heck out of them!

One thing needs to go right away, and that's the air cleaner. Those old Edelbrocks have a foam element that can catch fire and burn your car to the ground. Get it off as soon as possible for your car's safety!

I'll add a little here. In the 70s GM couldn't give you the power they once did. What they did was give you the foundation to build power. Take a choked down 185HP 350 and swap a aluminum intake, holley carb, headers and a cam and your right back in the game as far as power goes.

That looks like a great starting point! a little tlc and that thing will look great ...its got the t-tops that could possibly mean rust because they were notorious for leaking but i would still love to have them on my car!

Thanks guys I think it's a great car and I love that it has t tops! And the part that I think is the best part of it is that I got the car for less than 2000$ and it's running the only catch is I got to get it to Tx from Ca!
