New rear shocks. Any suggestions?
 

So im getting some new rear shocks for the 80z to replace those rough air shocks and im planning on getting some gas shocks. Anyone suggest any certin type or have any luck with a kind? im not looking to spend more than $75 for a pair. these are the ones i was looking at getting. yes or no?

I've not tried the ones your looking at, but just keep in mind that if you get coil-over shocks that are to stiff; it will make it fill more like your riding in an old pick-up. :icon_bubbles:

is there any way to judge how stiff they will be compaired to originals or should i just kinda avoid coil overs?

You can find gas shocks without coil overs, they will ride much better.

Edelbrock IAS are the best of the cheaper shocks. The Monroe's are good too. The Eddy's are highly regarded on Nasty as very close to Bilstien. Bilstein's are the best nonadjustable tube shock out there.

I just looked at your link, no way thats the price for the pair. I haven't seen those before to tell you the truth. IMHO I don't think $75 a pair is gonna get much. My Pro Shocks were around $300 for the set, they are single adjustable and they rock.

You can get a pair of KYB ga shocks for between $50-$100 a pair at Summit. Even the $50 pair will be much better than OEM shocks. They wont be road race shocks, but you'll be pleased with the ride and handling for the road.

I have those coil shocks on my car,and they are a very stiff ride.They dont react fast enough to bumps and things so you feel every bump,pothole,etc.,they were on the car when i got it and were still fairly new so i foolishly put them back on when i replaced my leaf springs,replacing those shocks is my next project.

Rides pretty nice and i don't have a broken shock rattling around back there anymore. for around 60 bucks you can't beat it.
