It is where the head touches the intake, on of those water holes. I'm not sure what its called, but the one between the middle two intake bolts.

You DO NOT put any RTV on the intake gaskets, only on the tabs at the ends where they meet the valley.

Thats what I get for listening to my dad..

Now there's a couple questions coming from this:

1. Do I need to go ahead and pull the RTV'd gaskets off and put fresh ones on?

2. I only assumed water was coming from the intake there. Do you think it'd be safe to run my engine to visually see where bubbles are coming from?

3. Why do you not put RTV on the gaskets (that question is from my dad..)?

The side gasket material is made to be self sealing, so they need no RTV. The ends are also self sealing (if used) but RTV is needed in the corners where they mate. If the ends aren't used, (I never use them) then the back and front valley surfaces get a 1/4" bead of Ultra Black RTV that extends up to the corners of the side gasket only.

1. Yes, start with a fresh set.
2. Can't say, not knowing if you have an internal leak as well.
3. Answered above. Since you would need such a micro-fine film between the gaskets and metal, the RTV could actually cause a leak from being even slightly uneven or chunky. I recommend using the Fel-Pro "Blue" gaskets.

Well harbor freights had a sale on their timing light ($25). I also swapped intake gaskets (felpro blues) and went ahead and picked up a new valve cover gasket too. The coolant leak was actually the brass plug on the intake and some RTV took care of that. The car sounds better than the day I bought it. I need to adjust the carb, but classes start tomorrow and I start teaching Thursday. So I just hope it's tuned enough to not die lol.

But thank you everyone for your patience and help!
