New '73 Camaro, need to change frame rails, need expertise.
Yo guys i just got my 73 camaro Z28, and the previous owner advised the the frame rails should be replaced cuz of rust. Any advice whether its doable at home or not? I have never did body work so im pretty much a rookie. He showed me where to get the exact frame rails for the 73 from this link http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.mv...t_Code=RFR-43L
What do you guys think?

Since the link doesn't show a picture, I'm gonna assume you're talking about the rear frame section, since that's a popular place for rust-out.
If you have never did body work before, you're certainly jumping into the deep end right away. Not saying you can't do it, it depends on your natural skill level and how well you pick things up.
The car needs to be supported level and square, the gas tank removed, and the leaf spring needs to be removed on the side that you're working on.
The bad frame section needs to be cut/ground out, the existing body and frame (in the attaching area) needs to be thoroughly cleaned/ground, and the new & old frames need to be cut & adjusted to fit together properly.
Then the new frame will get welded to the old frame and body.
You'll at least need: an air compressor, welder, air cut-off tool, right angle grinder, and a lot of patience.
