Default Need help replacing a coil on a 1978 Z28

Does anyone have a online source for directions on how to replace a coil and some of the electronic components inside the distributor cap?

Unscrew four bolts and unplug. Reverse to install. The ignition module is remove the cap. Remove two screws unplug. I like to use dielectric grease on the bottom of the module that I reinstall.

It does have HEI. Is there a fuse for the coil or distributor?

Put a test light on the wire marked "BATT" on the dist cap. You should see power with hte key on. That is your first test!

No fuse. The pink wire that plugs into the cap is your power. If your car has a tach, there should be a green wire next to the pink. The module is plugged into the cap behind them.

My best guess is that you have a blown Ignition Module. Coil going bad does happen but that is like once in twenty times.

I replaced the coil which looked very worn and the ignition module and it started right up. Thanks for the help.
