Yeah thanks, although I wasn't trying to give the whole recipe to build one...
The laundry list is longer than that.

Slight correction to 70Z28LT1's statement, the LT-1 wasn't used in the Vette until 1970 either.
The "LT1" (no dash) came back as a totally different engine in 1992 and was the only V-8 put in the Vette and Camaro during the LT years, other than "special" production engines like the ZR1.
Camaro 69...I don't know what the source of your information is, but since I previously owned a 68 Corvette Coupe WITH THE LT-1 engine option you may want to check your facts. Not only was the engine installed in the car, it was identified on the hood of the car as well. The factory rating in the Corvette was 370HP, and 360HP in the Camaro. Some of the other posts are correct with the specs of this engine, it was indeed a 11.0 CR with mechanical lifters, factory 780 CFM Holley carb, and aluminum intake manifold. I appreciate everyone's input and information. I'm still hoping to find a quality photo of the engine pad with the correct configuration of the numbers stamped on the engine ID pad.

Here's a link to a 70 LT-1 Corvette for sale, almost identical to the one I owned in 68...http://www.usedcorvettesforsale.com/...e-29832-3.html maybe you think this is also one that someone put the motor in and added the hood...think again!

I did a web search for LT-1's for sale and I found this 70 model Corvette LT-1. I did NOT find a site identifying a 68 LT-1 factory engine option, so indeed the 68 Corvette I owned may indeed have been a "clone". I was unaware of it at the time. Information way back then...was not as available as it is today.

Trust me, my facts are from my past experience. I've owned, worked on, restored, and bought & sold C3 Vettes for over 25 years. Primarily, 69's are my favorite, and I have one I'm putting back together right now. The 327 was the small block engine for the 68 Vette. The 350 wasn't put in the Vette until 69, and still not an LT1 option until 1970.
