Kindly asking for advice on this 77 beauty

I'm new to this forum, so first of all thanks for letting me in and greetings to everybody.

I'll start by mentioning that I'm European, from Spain specifically, and I've always loved American muscle. Bad news is, I don't have much of an idea about models availability, characteristics and consequent value. Which is why I decided to join this forums and ask the expert opinion of the Camaro gurus.

I recently fell head over heels with this gorgeous 77 priced at $6,000.00. I am on a tight budget right now, but I still could afford it. However, I would not want to make any mistake, although I must say that it was love at first sight.

The add reads:

"Selling this 1977 Camaro for my dad has been garaged and driven very little could use a little work on the interior he had the seal changed on the transmission and put a new battery in it has a new Edelbrock carburetor in good running condition clear title call or text with questions thanks
We are pretty sure the odometer has rolled over believing the mileage is 133,000"

Attached are the pictures that had me sleepless for the past two weeks, lol. I can also provide the VIN number if that's allowed on the forum.

What do you guys think? What should I be looking for? Is it a fair price? What important things should I know before jumping into the Camaro club?

Thanks in advance everybody for your valuable input :icon_dance-tap:

Welcome, Janet, to the Club.
IMO, and others here may agree, or not, and add to the list.
VIN will provide model, engine type born with, L6 or V8, location Camaro was built, N= Norwalk, OH & L = Los Angeles, CA.
From the pictures provide, I see:
Could be a Z28 model because of the vents in the front fenders and the three-piece rear spoiler.
Aftermarket seat covers and door panels to match - what condition are the original seats?
Has Camaro been repainted - for 40 years old, paint looks shiny.
Dash needs some TLC as there should not be any gaps between dash pad, cluster , and bottom of dash.
As seen, front bumper needs alittle TLC also.
If you can, ask owner to send pictures of the following:
Trim Tag next to the master brake cylinder - this tag gives build date, location of build, and list of options.
Picture of rubber components - specifically, upper control arm bushings. The condition will give a general idea of the rest of the rubber, i.e., lower control arm bushings, and rear spring bushings.
Picture of subframe bushings - same apply to these also. If cracked/broken, they can be changed out relatively easy for solid bushings - do one side at a time.
Picture of glovebox door for viewing tire sticker for the size of tire - Z28 model is the only model equipped with 15 inch wheels/tires.
Ask for picture of inside trunk lid - to see if original 'Limited Slip' sticker is still there signifying rear axle is limited slip , more common term posi-traction.
I would suspect if repainted, the sticker, along with How-to-Use Jack Instructions are gone and never put back on.
Ask for rear axle code - a stamped two character code giving rear axle ratio and if positrack.
Is Camaro equipped with aftermarket air shocks? - Attitude seems alittle high - needed for wide tires in avoiding tire rub on rear lip.
Does A/C work? If not, why? Compressors, driers, and gas are not cheap.
What gas is installed? (R134a means it has been retro-fitted, if R12, expensive, but can be done).
Do all accessories and windows & door locks work? If not, why? this will give you a better idea of upkeep.
Ask for engine code from pad on engine in front of pass cylinder head under alternator. This code will tell if original with car as it would have partial VIN stamped, plant engine made, year, month, day, CID, carb used, and model application. See if engine is orig to Camaro, or swapped out at some time.
Does jack, lug wrench, and spare tire come with purchase?

There are more, but I'll let others chip in.
