what color should i paint my 1980 camaro

Are you trying to coordinate with an interior color? I still say...blue.

 

i have to replace the carpet so no preference

 

I think color is personal preference. We can suggest color but it is you who should make a decision.

I would paint mine yellow (if I had one )

 

jet black,or a dark green.

This is a very personal desicion, it all depends on what kind of look you want to give your car, or your style i guess, i mean, if you wanna go around picking up girls and you know, red is always HOT, if you want lots lots of attention i would say Yelow, if you are more into a bad *** kidda look, my oppinion would be, BLACK! it really does look good on this body style, at least i've seen a couple painted that color. plust with black you can pretty much put any other color you want. the only bad thing about black is that it gets dirty too easy! (personal experiance)
White looks pretty good too and anyother color would do and it prolly look really good if you add a white interior.
Again is up to you, just my oppinion
