I currently have a 1979 Z28 Camaro 350 with a Muncie 4-speed. I am using a z-bar setup but I would like to convert it to hydraulic. What parts do I need and what kind of work is it to convert?

 

The simplest way is to go with TKO setup, but it's not a cheap conversion! The new throwout bearing will be around $135-$140 vs. $30-$35 for stock. The clutch master will need to be bolted to the firewall, and the firewall should be plated to give strength for the flexing it will have from this location. You'll also need the slave cyliner, and I think the TKO unit bolts right up to the factory bellhousing. Then there's lines from the master to slave, and TO bearing.
Some say they don't like the feel of a hydraulic, so you may want to find someone that has one already to see if it's something you really want to do for that kind of monetary layout.
