i hope you didnt use bondo bondo like the 3m bondo you buy at autozone or anything. that stuff wont last near as long as a good body filler such as evercoat. i mean if the body work is already done then i guess ur best of leaving it but just for a future reference never use 3m bondo.

 

yeah thats the junk i used im not really worried about it though it was my first time using it and im just starting out it needs to be reworked anyway but for now its fine. but as for the speedo cable i took out the piece that just comes out i hoped it would be broken or worn out but nope it was fine so now my last option is the piece inside the tranny okay so to replace that what would be easiest? taking the whole thing out? can i just take the back part out that its in? if i take the whole thing out i might get a rebuild kit for it

 

i drove it today it was awsome! got alot of wheel hop think i need some traction bars

 

The teeth on the rear of the gear might not be the problem...Did you look at the front of the gear? Where the cable fits into it? If that's rounded out it would spin,but the cable wouldnt.

 

yeah thats the main thing i looked into on it i tried it on the speedo cable it was firm not rounded out and the gear teeth looked good so im thinking its the driven gear inside there

 

That blows. Always better if you don't have to take alot of stuff off. I hate messing with transmisisons.

 

lol yeah i was like okay please be broken but nope it was fine so to fix it will i be dropping the whole tranny or just the back half? i've never done anything wiith a tranny before but nows a good time to start i guess and i have to find my chiltons book its gotta be somewhere and i could use it's help lol

 

You can pull the tail housing, not the whole tranny. Put a seal in the housing while it's off to prevent future driveline yoke leaks at the tranny.

 

yeah thats what my mechanic at work told me today about just pulling the tail housing that is, and i got my parts in today lol it was like christmas as a kid it was nice i haven't felt like that in along time but anyways im finding out that i probably should have got better stuff then summit brand the x pipes are pretty rough and the headers idk about them do you normally have to grind on new ones? ill post a pic and let you guys look at em maybe its just me idk they seem rough but i got all my stuff so im happy i'll make it work somehow
