well, one thing may be that your thormostat is to low. because what happens is that at the lower temps. it opens up and the hot coolant does not stay in the radiator for long enough. i mean, in my small block i ran a 195 and never had a problem with it. id try bumping that up. see what it does. its easy and cheep enough. and also 190 is not really that hot. 212 is boiling stay away from there. but if it hangs out at 190 and doesnt really go above that its fine. the summer is bad for overheating. damn heat!

yea i had a 180 thrmostate in it and it didnt help so i treid goin with a lower one but ill go get the 195 and see what happens. i kno 190 isnt bad but that cruising down the highway or justs stopped at a light...but lets say im behind 3 cars at that light and it just keeps creepin. so if i get stuck ina ny traffic whatsoever im in trouble..and its been drivin me nuts....my next step if i cant get it to cool down in to look into a bigger radiator or liek an alluminum one or somethin..whitch i really dont wanna do becosue i dont see this car staying long after this summer...thanks tho i always wonderd what the thermostat actually did lol. liek i knew it effected flow but liek ive driven around without one befor...

I'm running about 190 to 200, so I'm going to see if this works.

I dont run with a thermostat at all in the summer. Just put one in in the fall. Runs cool even in this heat......
