Default Gauge cluster problems?

hey got a 1979 camaro. im working on getting it on the street more solid. i got all the other guages hooked up but the fuel gauge is at about a 180degree angle past full. my gauge cluster is pretty beat up. and my speedometer starts ticking past 50 mph and the needle waves around till about 70 it stops a little. should i look for a new gauge cluster some place or how do these gauges put together?
also how can i track the bugs out of my sending unit or track it to the gauge?
any help would be great thanks
