Default First cruise in this season

We had our first big cruise in this season at Mt Pleasant school. A benefit to help the school, and turnout was very good! I was pretty disappointed to only see one other 2nd gen there, and it was a Formula 400 Firebird.
With all the decent 2nd gens I see running around town occasionally I still can't figure why we rarely see them at shows. We just had our annual Roadster Show, and there was only one 2nd gen Camaro there too. It was a nice '71 SS 396 car, and one of the cleanest, best engineered I've ever seen.
Hope with the season starting, I'll see some more 2nd. gens! I'd like to swap info and whatever with someone else that's got similar interests.

They're pretty much every weekend from here on until end of Sept. Next Sat. is Suburban Ford/Chevy's cruise out in Sandy, Ore. 11:00AM-3:00PM, at Oral Hull Park. Every Friday night is Hot Rod Pizza's cruise over on Mcloughlin across from Fred Meyers at Oak Grove from 6-9:00PM.
I hit the Roadster Show in the spring and they have flyers there for the local cruises each year. I also check the "PDX Car Culture" site:
http://www.pdxcarculture.com/

Click on the "FLYERS" at the top and it will open all the events for the season.
PDXCC has not only the cruises, but pictures after the cruises, and lots of other local car info. If you look at the left side of pic #4 of the Mt Pleasant cruise you can just make out the front of my car in the bacground. That's the closest I get to getting in a cruise picture!
My buddy's '56 Chevy actually won a trophy! It's a gold and satin black 4dr sedan, with rear handles shaved. Looks old school custom, but very clean. He called us a "bunch of losers" when he came back with his trophy. I think he was joking???

If you go to the PDX CC site and look in the Mt PLeasant car pics you'll see my buddy's 56 Chevy, and another friend's old Nash wagon:

Yes it is, and squirelly as heck! It only weighs about 2200 lbs., and the stock big block is a 360 HP version, and that's plenty in that car!
