fenderwell headers?
hey guys, im still in the learning process so i have a question, is there any difference in hp gain if you went from longtube headers to fenderwell headers, i know it would depend on the rest of the exhaust setup but say everything was the same except for the headers, would there be a difference? and i feel so dumb for asking this question but i cannot think of what you call the mufflers that run pretty much under the rocker panels and exit to the side just before the rear wheels, and any ideas on this would be appreciated! thanks guys!

They're called sidepipes. As for the headers underneath vs. fnderwell headers, if all is equal then there's no HP gain. One thing I would say is most Camaros wont have room for fenderwell headers without a lot of modification, or possibly removal of the back half of the inner fenders.

Yes sidepipes is what they are. I have a set from a '76 Vett and long headers with Trush mufflers. And i tell you i like the looks but they are a pain in the A$$ they bottom out a lot.

I used to have a set on my 1971 Camaro that mounted higher, so the door just barely cleared them. The entry tube was dropped under the body, but it was far enough forward to not drag.
They were satin black, looked cool, and way too loud, so I took them off and gave them to a friend. They also lost a bit of HP, as it took a long pipe, with extra turns to get from the header collector to the entry of the sidepipe.
