Engine dilema
I bought my 72 Camaro, only to find out it has a 305 not a 350. No I didn't verify it before. My bad.
The VIN calls for a 350.
is it worth the cost to try and locate a rebuildable 350 in Tucson and sell the 305, or try to sell the car and move on ?
Thanks
Mike

Well since you don't have the numbers matching motor unless you want an all original car I'd just buy a crate engine 350 if it's within your budget.

You can try to sell the 305 but don't expect to get more than a couple hundred for it,someone will need it for something I'm sure but they're not exactly in much demand.
There should be plenty of used small blocks out there for sale the 350 being the most common far and away, check around as there might be one you can hear running that's still in a car or truck someone is parting out or maybe swapping in a big block or LS etc.
Keep in mind if you get a 400 you'll need a 400 flywheel or flexplate as they're externally balanced, otherwise a great choice.
