Edelbrock Intake manifold
I just got a Edelbrock sp2p intake manifold. i am going to install this on my 78 Camaro with a 350 small block. can anyone give me any information about this intake? will this intake give me more power?
That manifold is a blast from the past. SP2P = Small Port Dual Plane. The small ports help build velocity for better low to mid range torque. It's not a high rpm intake, and it's better used on small cfm carburetor applications. If you have a plain-jane engine, you're fine. But if you're looking for an intake that performs well from idle to 6,000 rpm, with a big carb, then get something else. The SP2P is 1970's technology, and better ones have evolved since then.

The only problem I had with that manifold is the EGR valve plate leaking, which is held on by an Allan head. Made a new gasket and everything was great.
The engine in the Nova was a stock 350, 2 bbl. What an improvement going to this manifold. It had tons of low end torque but not much else happened above 5,200 rpm if I remember right.
