The bumpers look very much like the stock ones I have, but I don't think I've even got that roller thing. I just stripped the material off my stock bumpers and covered them with new wool felt carpetting, then put them back in.
I know what you're saying on repro parts. Been through the same thing and it's almost always a disappointment. I had to replace the nylon window rollers and the new ones didn't even fit the stock tracks! Had to chuck them in my lathe and turn down the width so they wouldn't bind in the tracks.
Seems like everything needs mods to fit. I had the same issue you had with the sweeps digging into the paint. Had to make a wedge to swage them open to fit over the body, and was still unhappy with the fit. I finally dumped them and went with plain sweeps that don't have any edge molding.

The big L shaped part goes at the bottom, right in the middle. The rubber side is horizontal, facing up. So that the glass has something to rest on while down. The felts go on the same as the stock ones. They look like the ones in my car. But I'm going off memory.

Thanks for jogging my memory Damon! I do have that on mine, just never changed it, as it isn't really a part that wears out.

They do rust out though. Michigan, remember. My mom is bringing here 07' Tahoe over so I can repaint the bumper because its rusted and she wants to trade it in. Same for my buddies 07' Ram. wheel wells are starting to bubble. Both of these trucks were brought to me today, thats why I mentioned them.

Man, I just can't imagine driving a car in that environment! What a shame to salt roads when there are options that don't damage vehicles like that. Maybe Detroit is behind this to keep the new car sales up!

big difference in size but they seem to fit,not much felt on them. I would have just used the old ones but the previous owner used seatbelt material and weatherstrip adhesive. Its as hard as concrete cant get it off.

I see no pics. Does size really matter?
