differences between late 70's

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a 76/77 soon but I wondered if anyone could tell me how they differ? Also seem some nice 79's for sale and I'd like to know the main differences between 76, 77, 78 and 79. Will help a lot in my search for the dream car :D

Thanks for any advice

76/77 are "Big Bumper" cars. Newer cars are rubber bumper.

Thanks dude.. is that the only difference then? I think I prefer the big bumpers looks wise.

There's sort of three versions of the 2nd gen Camaros that are significant changes. The 1970-73, the 1974-77, and the 1978-81. There are minor differences each year, but the change from small rear windows and small bumpers from 1973 to '74. Then the change from large external bumpered 1974-77 to the molded integral bumpered 1978.
They're all a bit unique, and all have reasons to be liked by different owners. It would be fun to have one of each version, or even each year if I was rich!

I'd love to own a 70, 77 and a 79. But a 77 is my favourite, guess I'll keep looking for one D: But thanks for the advice! :)

Haha thanks :p is that 77 yours? I'm looking for sellers now, seen some really nice 78's at the tip of my price range but no luck with a 77 yet. Decided to stick to buying one in england as it's so much easier being able to visit it, look about it etc. And drive it home!

Yes, it is mine. Good luck on finding what you want.

Between the '76 & '77 I'd go with the '77 because there was a big loss in perfornace in the 75-76 models. Collectable wise the '77 was the first Camaro to beat out the Mustang, and the return of the Z28. For more information check out about options, colors, and powertrain check out this site MadMike's 1977 Camaro Data
