Angry Dead cylinder

So I'll start this thread to sum up the last one. #2 cylinder is dead. The header stays cold no matter how long you run it. The spark is fine and the compression is right around 140 psi on all cylinders.

however, I took off the valve cover, disconnected the Ignition wire and cranked it to find that the rockers BARELY moved on number 2. My thoughts were collapsed lifters but I could be wrong.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

I'm not trying to post excessively, just now that I've narrowed down the problem, I'd like to save the frustration of reading through an entire thread.

Thanks.

Sounds to me like you have a couple of flat cam lobes... Pull the rockers and turn the motor by hand while you check the travel of those two lifters.

I probably should have mentioned that this started recently and the engine ran fine up until a week ago.

I think you should stick with the advice already given by Camaro69.
