Agreed, everyone's aspirations for they're projects differs, in my case, I had to work within time and budget constraints. I didn't want so much power that I would have to start modifying the chassis. I wanted a highway cruiser that would motivate right when I commanded it, all while burning cat pee. As it is, I spent just under 3K, I built it according to his recommendations, as it was less expensive and he had a bit of race work ahead of me. I've learned to trust his 30+ years of knowledge vs. the tech lines. He has a way with taking aftermarket parts and getting more out of them. The man can get power out of just about anything that burns recycled dinosaur. A lot of my knowledge came from him. I'm just sayin', if you can draw on the level of experience that I was able to, take advantage of it.

I had a couple mentors. One owned the speed shop around the corner. I would get up in the morning and go sit on a stool at the shop. I saw a lot of stuff go through there.
LOL His nickname was Wizard. We all had T-shirts that said "go see the wizard, ask him for some *****." Great memories there.
