Check this one out!
The new owner of this pro street Camaro is a local guy, and a friend of a friend. We checked it out last night at the Beaches cruise in and it's even more impressive when you're right next to it!
Barely streetable though, for anything more than a couple miles drive from the trailer to the cruise. It was on display sans the hood, and it's impressive:

Yeah, it didn't sell for that price, so I think $69k was pie in the sky. Supposed to have over $100k into it, and I'm guessing he hoped to get the $69k, but reality set in and it didn't get anything close to that.

I guess that's what you'd call it. It's basically the stock body with glass doors, trunk lid, frontend, built into a full race car, but then a almost stock dash and carpetted. It's way over the top, but very well done. Not my idea of a car I'd enjoy, as it's not able to be driven far. That's kinda where I'd say it's not Pro Street, because most Pro Street cars can be driven a fair distance. More of a barely street legal race car.

I probably wouldn't even be excited about it if it wasn't for the fact it's a 2nd Gen Camaro. Not much in the way of 2nd Gens that doesn't at least peak my interest!
Drove the '71 to the hotrodders breakfast this morning, and it got the usual mediocre reception. A few guys were interested enough to look it over and like it, but this group is a bunch of old retired guys that love anything from the 20's to 50's, but "muscle cars" aren't their thing.
Most of them (except for a few friends) thought I was some new guy who was lost until I mentioned I usually drove my Austin there. Then they put 2+2 together, and wondered why I'd own a gasser and a muscle car. Those guys really have a very narrow span of interest!

Yes, he did trade a 2006 ZO6 for the Camaro, and from what I've seen of the Corvettes for sale tops on them might get $50,000, but probably more like $45,000, so a good trade for him. The seller is in his 70's and his wife wanted the Corvette to drive.
Mike and I are heading out to Dairy Queen this afternoon, so maybe we'll see you guys there!
Wish I'd have known about the Camaro thing at Beaches, as I'd have driven the '71 out for it.
