It's the last one on both the driver and passenger sides. i tried soaking it up with a shop towel but it wasn't working so i put plastic and towels down in the block just incase it dripped down. i heard that will tear stuff apart.

That's supposed to be there. Those are coolant passages that passes from one head to the other, through the intake manifold. There's also one in the front of each head too. Coolant shows up in the back ones because of the tilt of the engine.

Heh, heh...that green stuff keeps the heads from melting down!
Btw, if yours is a summer car, you want to block off the center exhaust crossover passages on the intake manifold. That's there to warm up the carb in the winter, but it makes for a hot carb in the summer (hurts performance). Hopefully the gasket set came with the thin metal block off plates.

I KNOW WHAT COOLANT IS lol. yea it did come with the metal peices i will be putting them in soon. I was just doing some research earlier before i even started this little project and they were saying dont let any coolant into the block because it will basically tear your $h!t up. im painting my manifold silver to match the valve covers. it looks wayyyy better so far. The block is black so i think it will be a nice color combo and add some contrast to brighten up the engine bay....my roommate watches house decorating shows...

Anyway this is before:

Any time you do intake manifold or head work, an oil change afterward is a must. Any worries about "maybe some coolant or other crud went into the pan" goes right out the drain plug. Also wouldn't hurt to pour some fresh oil into the lifter valley to flush down any crud that may have fallen into an oil passage. That intake looks pretty good actually. I thought you were going to ruin the "natural" look, but it works.

well i bought the thermostat housing with the natural look and painted that a while back and it turned out pretty good. it doesn't look cheap or anything in person it just looks new. And yes i am definitely due for an oil change.

This is everything together.

That light blue is the factory color for a late second gen. I would go straight 30w.

I painted mine too. I blasted it and the finish sucked so a little rattle can love and presto.Name: 004-5.jpg

The problem with painting is what happens the first time you change your jets.
