i just got a shift plate for my 81 camaro but im not sure how to get the shift **** off to put it on..can somebody please give me some step by step instructions?

 

almost all of them should just unscrew, u may have to crank it some. If it wont come then there may be 1 or 2 screws on the front of it (side not facing you) that are holding it on.

 

nope it doesnt even turn..i think theres a snap ring on the inside of the shift **** after i pop the button part off..

 

oh hell u have one of those button deals....... I may be wrong but i thought there was a little screw that held those on in the front.

 

when i take the top botton off, i dont see any screws or anything just a ring on the bottom of the ****

 

do i use snap ring pliers to remove it or what?

 

and when i was trying to remove the snap ring, i pulled this metal clip off, it looks like a girls wire type hair clip lol..

 

ok i got it off but im not sure how to put that metal clip/pin that came off back on? i think it holds the button on so it doesn't go flying off when you let go of it.

 

Isn't there a slot in the base of the ****? Not 100% sure since mine came with a B&M megashifter. If I remember correctly there's a little slot in the base of the **** that when you slide the **** over the shaft you should be able to slide the clip in that slot and snap it in.

 

ok i think i see a slot but when i put it in there, the button doesn't wanna go down..and the screw must be old cuz i think the top is wearing down as im screwing it..
