buying a car with no title

oh yeah,and it isn't a trans am, it's a 1978 z28. he's decided that he wants to sell the car for $450, but i'll have to pay for the expenses to apply for the title and such (yes, there is a way to do it here, but it's a mountain of paperwork, and involves placing ads in newspapers). what do you guys think? worth it? not worth it? thanks!

Just my opinion but pass that's too much work and its probably very possible you still won't be able to get the title

No, a none numbers matching roller that needs restored in not worth the time and money it is going to take to get it back on the road. If the sheet metal is solid it might make a good doner parts car.

Based on what the rad support looks like under the carpet will be a nightmare.
