Default Best method to clean gauges

Working on restoring my 80 Z28 and wondering if you guys have any suggestions on the best method to clean my gauge lenses for the tach, speed, etc. They are in good condition, but really dingy and have a little overspray on them I believe from painting the exterior of the car. The glass and dash was removed but left the guages in place when painting. I thought they were protected well enough but evidently not. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

My guess... Headlight polish... take the gauges out and take the lens off... polish as if you were working on a Honda headlight... that is what I would try.

I'm working on my instrument cluster right now also and I just used a plastic polish from Meguiars. You've probably seen the PowerBall foam wheel polishers that come in different sizes? I used the real small one on my drill and it worked beautiful. The cluser lense is like new now.

I bet 5time is right though, a headlight restorer will probably work good too.

Thanks guys. I used a headlight polishing kit and finished off with some plastic polish and it looks great!
