RE: BAD NEWS HELP!!!!
Ok it is a 350 bored 30 over. It has an edelbrock high rise manifold with 670 street advenger. The heads Wright now it has factory cast iron heads. I plan on putting a set of 202 aluminum heads off a vette next weekend. Giving the top end is going to be torn apart any way and for preventive measure. I plan on having the heads resurfaced and maybe a valve job done before they are installed. Also I want to upgrade to roller rockers noting too extreme but since it’s going to be apart it seams like a good time.

yup, perfect time to start a spring/summer project. Shouldnt take too long, what you are doing that is. You will end up changing the gaskets out anyways for that kind of job. What kind of 'valve job' are you thinking?

RE: BAD NEWS HELP!!!!
Probaly a 3 angle real miner i also found a set of bow tie iron heads and im not sure if i should just run them. All i am trying to build is a 14 second car nothing too big. Maybe latter add spray and try to run 13s but for now just a mid 14 second street car. The car has a 350 turbo trany and a 4.11 posi under it and the engine is bored 30 over with what i belive is a mild cam or its just running like ****. I guess i will find out this week[>:]

RE: BAD NEWS HELP!!!!
Oops missed the post on the head change...
Which Alloy heads are you looking at? You say they are vet heads? Do you have a casting number?
Do you know what you have for pistons or for cam? It would be really good to know what the cam you have..that way you can be sure and have the valve springs set correctly for the cam....If you can find out, then you may be able to make better decisions on the overall setup...
As with the intake swap, be sure to chase the head bolt holes and invest in a good quailty set of new bolts with washers and use gaskets for alloy heads to cast blocks.
If the heads you are going to use do not have screw in rocker studs with guide plates thenI strongly suggest you invest in getting them installed. At the very least the studs should be cross pinned.
Which roller rockers are you lookng at...?
Also think about investing in a high flow water pump such as the Edelbrock Victor. It will significantly increase the flow of coolant through the engine…and with the alloy heads you sure don't want to over heat them...
Sounds like a good combo..14s? heck yea....
What do you know about the bow tie cast iorn heads....?
Do you have sub frame connectors?
Is it a 10 or 12 bolt posi?
Greg

RE: BAD NEWS HELP!!!!
That is what I am looking into now is asset of bow ties. The vette ones are still an option but I came across a good set of iron bow ties with roller rockers for 700 bucks. I will find out this weekend what’s going on with the engine and the cam your guess is as good as mine at this point. The rear is a 10 bolt posi with 4.11 gears I will also find out this weekend if this is true witch I believe it is. The under side is showing its age but it does have newer shocks.
